About this offer
As much as we love Chardonnay—it is the #1 selling white wine in the U.S., after all—sometimes we’re ready for something different. Something to shock our taste buds and open our eyes. Call it the “back-to-school” effect, which we are feeling so hard right now.
With today’s ‘Anything But Chardonnay’ showcase, we’re bringing you tons of zesty white wines — and not a bottle of Big C in sight!
For a buy-in of just $22, score aromatic Gewurztraminer, Albariño, Gruner Veltliner, and so many more!
Even more interesting, many of these international grapes are being grown right here in the U.S., and we’ve found some of the coolest producers doing awesome things with these varieties!
Ever try a Chenin Blanc from Paso Robles? A Pinot Blanc from Carneros?
While we’ve packed this showcase with cutting-edge deliciousness, we also were able to get our hands on some true classics, like this top upgrade…
A 2013 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc, worth $260!
The Chaves can trace their winemaking roots all the way back to 1481 — talk about a legacy! They own some of the BEST sites in all of Hermitage in the Northern Rhône, which produces fruit of out-of-this-world quality.
However, unlike so many winemakers, which count single-vineyard wines as their highest offering, the Chaves think blending grapes from their different lieux-dits (named sites) creates the ultimate wine!
What’s also super-unique about the estate is that the white wines have an insane ability to age — some even say they age longer than the red wines! This Marsanne and Roussanne blend is going to go for a looonnngggg time! I bet all those gorgeous floral, citrus, and orchard fruit flavors and aromas have started evolving into something completely spectacular!
