Spain's Top Reds w/ 2nd Shot at Unico Especial
We heard you loud and clear: you want more Spanish red wines, and you want another shot at the Vega Sicilia Unico Especial.
Consider your wishes granted: we just launched an all-Spanish red wine collection, with tons of new estates and wines up for grabs.
Pay just $29 wines for Rioja, Priorat, Ribera del Duero, and beyond — and every bottle you buy will get upgraded to a more expensive wine.
And as promised, Vega Sicilia’s renowned Unico Especial 2019 release (2006, 2007, 2009), worth $600, is up for grabs!
We’re excited to bring you Ostatu’s Rioja Reserva, a wine from a family-owned estate that works primarily with old-vine fruit. Hubert de Boüard de Laforest of Château Angélus in Saint-Émilion was instrumental in helping Ostatu see the potential of their vineyards and modernize their winemaking practices.
In the mix is also Venta La Vega, the personal project of famed producer Raul Perez. The focus of the ‘Ternario’ wines is Garnacha Tintorera, aka Alicante Bouschet. As one of Spain’s most innovative winemakers, you can expect great things from this wine.
And then there’s the Unico Especial. We all know about Unico, with its crazy aging techniques and decade-ish waiting time before its release. Well, Especial is next-level Unico. As a nonvintage, it’s a blend of the best vintages of Unico. But you can’t just dump a bunch of wine together and call it a day. A lot of thought and consideration goes into figuring out which vintages will complement each other best.
