A 2016 Domaine Pierre Morey Batard-Montrachet, worth $475!!!
The Morey family’s roots in Burgundy can be traced back to the 16th century, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that the estate truly came into its own!
Morey, who also worked as the vineyard manager from Domaine Leflaive, started making his own wine from small family parcels — and ooooohhhhh boy, was it GOOD!
As acclaim for the wine came in, Pierre Morey continued to innovate. He started following biodynamic practices in the 1990s, which he follows today.
In 1997, his daughter, Anne, began working alongside him, ensuring the legacy lives on!
The Batard-Montrachet is a stunning, stunning, stunning wine! (did I mention it is stunning?) Beautiful acidity, striking minerality, and elegant fruit round out this complex wine.
