Collector ALERT: Spanish Bold Reds Ft. Vega Sicilia
We’ve had collections of Spanish wines in the past, but definitely nothing like this.
While most of the country (and all of Europe, for that matter) is on vacation, we were working behind the scenes with those that weren’t OOO to bring you wines that we’ve never been able to get our hands on before.
When you pay just $30 per bottle, you’ll tap into a collection of wines from Spain that’s unparalleled to anything we’ve offered before.
You might even get…
A Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial 2006, 2007, 2009 (2019 release), worth $600!
If you’re already a fan of Spanish wines, you’ll be glad to know that every bottle you buy instantly gets upgraded to a wine worth more.
And if you’re just now discovering the charms of Spain’s diverse wine regions, now’s the perfect time to really dig in deep.
For the first time, we were able to get our hands on Familia Torres ‘Salmos’ from Priorat. Grapes come from a steeply sloped vineyard in the village of Porrera. It’s a site that’s hard to farm so yields are tiny — this is definitely a true gem from the region. As a side note, Familia Torres joined forces with Jackson Family Wines to create one of the most robust sustainability initiatives the wine industry has ever seen. These are true leaders in the wine world today.
Also new to us is Muga Seleccion Especial Reserva Rioja. Located in the historic Haro district of La Rioja, the estate is one of the most well-regarded wineries in the region, with a history dating back to 1932. The Seleccion Especial, a blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Carignan, and Graciano, spends 26 months aging in new French oak, followed by an additional 18 months in bottle, for a wine that’s exceptionally complex and developed, but still has a long life ahead of it.
And as any collector knows, a Vega Sicilia Unico Especial is a truly rare offering. Unico itself is known for its long and complex aging time. With Especial, numerous vintages are blended together, which adds another layer of intrigue to one of the most celebrated wines in the world. As you can imagine, production is tiny, and to score this wine for just $30 is out of this world.
